Below is a list of our current job openings. All of these positions except Contest Runner allow for a flexible schedule and the ability to work from home for the most part, except when attendance is required at meetings or math contests. All hiring decisions except intern positions are made on a rolling basis, and positions are open until filled and removed from the website.
Director of Curriculum
We are looking for someone to fill a full-time exempt position as head of our curriculum department. Primary duties will include: (1) leading the team that creates our contest problems to ensure that we produce high-quality tests on a fixed schedule, (2) teaching most of our online classes, and (3) running all of our online contests as well as occasional in-person contests. Candidates must be highly skilled at writing, editing, and teaching contest problems. This is a remote job, but the candidate must be based in Houston, Las Vegas, Phoenix, or St. Louis, and willing to travel for work once a month. Most work time is flexible, with fixed hours three weeknight evenings per week and most weekends. To apply for this job, please send a resume and letter of interest to operations@mathleague.org before January 15, 2026. Candidates selected for an interview will be required to submit a sample test and a short teaching video prior to the interview.
Web Developer
We are looking for a full-stack web developer with strong skills in PHP, MySQL, and Javascript. This can be either a half-time or full-time position depending on the scheduling needs of the candidate. To apply for this job, please send a resume and letter of interest to operations@mathleague.org.
Contest Runner
We are looking for several part-time contractors to run contests for us. This job will require weekend work, frequent 12-hour workdays, and travel to contest sites. Successful candidates will have the ability to multitask, work well under pressure, and deal professionally with clients. Training will be provided, but prior familiarity with our contests is a plus. This position can be combined with other work (including some of the jobs listed above) if the applicant wishes to take on a larger role as a formal employee. Intern
mathleague.org accepts applications each year for our internship program for the coming school year. Recent high school graduates are especially encouraged to apply. The application window each year is from early April to late May. You can access our most recent program description here to find out more about what the program is like. Check back in April to apply for the 2025-2026 school year.
High School Volunteer
mathleague.org does not hire students who have not yet graduated from high school, but we welcome high school students who wish to volunteer their time on certain projects in exchange for training and experience. Volunteers typically help organize past contest problems or assist at in-person elementary or middle school contests. Contact us at volunteering@mathleague.org for more information.
